A Little Something Else Up Our Sleeve – Design & Photography

We have been flat out lately, so it means there hasn’t really been time for many blog posts. But I thought I would wake up early just so I could let you know what we’ve been up to. Apart from building our new and amazing studio, we have been busy with our Tea & Jam sessions, school holidays AND doing some design work and photography for a few new businesses around town.

I know it isn’t something we usually post about, but we’d like to share, as I LOVE designing new stuff as well as taking snaps, in fact I have been a designer my whole life and I still like to do little projects here and there to keep my designer brain happy. So here is a little peek at the latest things we’ve done. And if you have a little project you need doing, then get in touch!

And Now For Something Completely Different | Celebrity Session

Ok, so it’s not what it says on the box. We photograph babies, children and families…or so we thought. Now its seems we also take portraits of famous people! Early on in the week I received a call from a Sydney production company looking for a Melbourne based photographer. When I asked about the assignment I was surprised and elated to discover that I would be taking portraits of Jamie Oliver on set of his current Australian tour.

Taking Jamie’s portrait was a lot of fun. He was charming and had obviously done this before. The most challenging thing was working with crazy light sources from all of the place – on top of using my strobe flash light.

This was a fantastic opportunity to good to pass. I don’t think we will be doing a shoot like this for a while, so back to taking portraits of families – and that’s something that suits us just fine.

Keep an eye out for our photos of Jamie in the newspapers this weekend. If you want to go to his live concert there may still be some tickets left for his Melbourne show at the Hi Sense Arena tonight.
