Ok, so it’s not what it says on the box. We photograph babies, children and families…or so we thought. Now its seems we also take portraits of famous people! Early on in the week I received a call from a Sydney production company looking for a Melbourne based photographer. When I asked about the assignment I was surprised and elated to discover that I would be taking portraits of Jamie Oliver on set of his current Australian tour.
Taking Jamie’s portrait was a lot of fun. He was charming and had obviously done this before. The most challenging thing was working with crazy light sources from all of the place – on top of using my strobe flash light.
This was a fantastic opportunity to good to pass. I don’t think we will be doing a shoot like this for a while, so back to taking portraits of families – and that’s something that suits us just fine.
Keep an eye out for our photos of Jamie in the newspapers this weekend. If you want to go to his live concert there may still be some tickets left for his Melbourne show at the Hi Sense Arena tonight.
I was there yesterday – being charmed and trying hard to take shots of him with my 70-300mm lens!!! Awwww – he’s just GORGEOUS!!!! Lucky you!
