With all the excitement of having a baby and moving to a new place I think it is easy to over look what might be going on in your child’s head. Maya has been pretty good through all the recent changes we have been through, however Kate and have felt lately that Maya may be experiencing a sense of sadness and loss for her old life.
It really is a big thing to take a 4 year old away from all the things that ground them in the world. I’m sure Maya misses her old next door neighbour and best friend Lopel. Not to mention her old creche of which she as been attending since she was 9 months old.
Kate and I have decided to make an effort to give Maya extra love at the moment. Not spoil her, but take care to spend some quality time with her. With primary school starting next year she will have a great chance to cement her roots and Ballarat will become her new world.
