It was Kate’s birthday today and it began with kisses and cuddles from her two girls and husband in bed. The night before I secretly wrapped her presents with Maya in her room. It was her special job to hide the presents so she choose to sleep with them under her pillow. This morning Maya eagerly presented Kate with her presents. From the shape of my present, Kate was able guess that I had bought her a watch – a cute little Swatch watch with lady bugs and flowers. There was no guessing Maya’s present though, a hand painted decoration from Plaster Fun House Ballarat. Kate of course loved it and it now hangs up on a hook in our bathroom. Her one birthday wish was for me to clean the messy car so I cleaned out the rubbish and gave it a good vacuum. With a clean car and a dressed family we hit the road for some birthday shopping.
It is good to see Kate here in this mother and daughter portrait, relaxing in front of the fire with a well earned glass of red.
